Agartala, 15th May 2025: A shocking incident took place in Ramcherra Kalitila, Bishalgarh, where a father was reportedly attacked by his own son with a sharp weapon. The accused Manoranjan Sarkar allegedly assaulted his father Jiban Sarkar late last night in an intoxicated state following a family dispute.
According to sources, the father sustained multiple injuries as Manoranjan struck him repeatedly with the weapon in an apparent attempt to kill him. Hearing Jiban’s cries for help, local residents rushed to the scene prompting the accused to flee immediately.
Upon receiving the alert, Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Police Officer Dulal Datta along with local police personnel arrived at the location. The injured man was swiftly shifted to Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital for medical treatment. Meanwhile, the police recovered the sharp weapon allegedly used in the attack.
Police is continuing their investigation into the case while efforts are underway to apprehend the accused, who remains at large.
