Agartala, August 25, 2023: The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of South Tripura district is spearheading efforts to prevent the spread of dengue in the region. The Health department took steps to raise public awareness about dengue in the Bir Chandra Nagar area, situated under the Santirbazar sub-division, on Friday.

A dedicated team of representatives from the Health department, led by the District CMO, undertook a door-to-door campaign in the BC Nagar area. Their mission was to inform residents about various preventive measures against dengue, including the importance of not allowing water to accumulate in and around homes.

This initiative comes in the wake of a recent dengue case in the BC Nagar area, where a 33-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital on August 21. Dr. Subrata Das, the District Chief Health Officer, reported that the patient has since been discharged from the hospital and is on the path to recovery.

Dr. Subrata Das reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that people remain safe from dengue infection through continued prevention efforts and public awareness campaigns.
