“South Tripura Idol”: State-wide talent hunt to begin from Santirbazar stage

Date:

Agartala, 15th June 2026:  A new chapter in Tripura’s cultural journey is set to begin as the much-awaited music competition “South Tripura Idol” prepares to launch from Santirbazar. The initiative aims to provide a major platform for emerging singers and showcase the hidden musical talents of South Tripura and across the state.

Organized by the Bibartan Socio-Cultural Organization, the unique talent hunt has already created significant excitement among the youth. The organizers have highlighted that the competition is not only about selecting a winner but also about discovering talented artists from remote areas and giving them an opportunity to shine on a bigger platform.

The event carries the message — “Your Voice, Your Dream, Your Stage—From Santirbazar to the Entire State.” The initiative is being led by key members of the organization, including President Sujoy, Cultural Convener Dipraj, Advisor Surajit Sarkar, and Executive Committee member Suman Debnath.

The competition will be open to participants between the ages of 12 and 24 years. According to the organizers, contestants will perform before a qualified judging panel, with attractive prizes and professional media coverage planned for the event. The programme is scheduled to begin in the last week of June.

The organizers stated that South Tripura has always been a source of talented artists, but many gifted performers have remained unnoticed due to the absence of proper platforms. Through “South Tripura Idol,” an effort is being made to identify those talents and introduce them to audiences across the state.

“A large number of young people have already shown interest in participating. This is not just a competition; it is an attempt to strengthen the cultural identity of South Tripura and encourage the younger generation to connect more deeply with art and music,” the organizers said.

With Santirbazar preparing to host this cultural initiative, expectations are high that the stage will discover some of Tripura’s finest voices and open new opportunities for aspiring artists.
