Agartala, 4th December 2025 : Unakoti District Police organized a special awareness program today as part of the “Nari Yuva Suraksha Samman Abhiyan” and “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.” The event was held at Hall No. 1 of Unakoti Kalakshetra in Kailashahar.
The program was inaugurated by Unakoti Superintendent of Police Sudambika R., who attended as the chief guest in presence of DSP Bima Sinha, District Inspector of Social Welfare and Social Education Vidyasagar Debbarma, District Education Officer Prashanta Kilikdar, Kailashahar Municipal Council Chairperson Chapala Debroy, and Kailashahar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Tapas Malakar, among others. The ceremony began with the traditional lighting of the lamp.
Starting at noon, the event drew participation from students of schools and colleges, parents, members of self-help groups, local residents, and administrative officials. Speakers emphasized the collective responsibility of families, educational institutions, society, and administration in building a drug-free community. They warned that substance abuse not only harms individuals but also destabilizes society and increases the risk of crime. The importance of public awareness and community initiatives to ensure women’s safety was also highlighted.
The initiative by Unakoti District Police was warmly welcomed by the public. Organizers expressed hope that such programs would spread positive messages across society and strengthen movements for safety and a drug-free future.
