Agartala, 31st October 2025:  Sadhak Rantanmoni Seva Sadan (S.R.S.S.) organized a spiritually uplifting Gopashtami Mela 2025 on its premises in Ananda Bazar, Kanchanpur, North Tripura, drawing a large gathering of devotees and local villagers.

The event, held with deep reverence, celebrated the sacred bond between humans and cows, aligning with the traditional observance of Gopashtami—the eighth lunar day of Kartik—commemorating Lord Krishna’s initiation into cow herding in Vrindavan.

S.R.S.S. Secretary Sudip Chakraborty inaugurated the fair with fervent devotion, emphasizing the spiritual and societal significance of the cow. “The cow is one of the most beneficial beings in our society. We consume its milk throughout our lives. It is as adorable as our mother. Even its excrement has utility. Children should be taught about the greatness of the cow in schools,” Chakraborty said during his address.

The mela featured a vibrant display highlighting the cow’s contributions to society. Devotees bathed cows, adorned them with flower garlands, and offered them fruits as a mark of reverence. The rituals, accompanied by devotional songs and community participation, underscored the ethos of compassion and respect for all living beings.

Local attendees expressed appreciation for the fair’s message and the opportunity to witness the Seva Sadan’s commitment to cow protection and spiritual values. The event served not only as a religious observance but also as a platform to promote awareness about the cultural and ecological importance of cows in Indian society.
