Agartala, 30th June 2026: Teachers and employees under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) expressed disappointment after the Special Lok Adalat failed to resolve their long-pending regularisation issue.
Tripura SSA Teachers Welfare Association president Sajal Deb said that the state government had already lost two cases in the High Court regarding the regularisation of SSA teachers. The High Court ruled in favour of the teachers, but the state government challenged the verdict in the Supreme Court, where the matter is currently pending.
According to Deb, the Special Lok Adalat was organised following directions from the Supreme Court, and teachers attended the event with high expectations. However, government officials present at the programme reportedly stated that they were not in a position to take any decision.
The association expressed disappointment, saying they had hoped the government would reconsider its position after repeated setbacks in court. The issue of regularisation therefore remains unresolved.
