State established ‘Tripura Pineapple and Jackfruit Mission’, mini rubber mission to be set up

Agartala: September 02 :  Tripura government has established ‘Tripura Pineapple and Jackfruit Mission’ in a bid to support skill development and creare employment generation opportunity.Addressing a press conference at civil secretariat here in Agartala, Special Secretary of Industry and Commerce department, Abhishek Chandra said the state government established the society for ‘Tripura Pineapple and Jackfruit Mission’ to support skill development and create employment generation opportunity and to promote industrialization through capacity building, credit linkage, marketing support etc.

“Another objective is to promote product development and export outside the state for both raw and processed products”, he said.The official said that proposal for Mini Rubber Mission on Rubber Processing and Value addition under preparation; Notified Industrial Estate in Lalchhari (Dhalai) and Kathalia (Sonamura) for Rubber Wood Based Industries to improve the quality of sheet from ungraded to sheet, special drive has been taken to facilitate setting up of Modern Smoke Houses and Rubber Processing Centres under PMEGP and Swabalamban scheme.

On new Recruitments and Promotions he said that the Council of Minister has approved recruitment of 16 of Senior Instructors for Government ITIS in the State; and 6 of Group C staffs. Process for recruitment has been initiated.“As per new Promotion Policy, 2021, the Department has taken initiative for promotion of Officers and employees. So far, 102 nos. of promotion has been given in different categories of posts”, Chandra said.In order to promote investment in’ potential sectors of the State, DESTINATION TRIPURA – Investment Summit 2021 was held during 9th – 10th December 2021 at Pragna Bhawan, Agartala, Tripura where more than 100 industrialists and Stakeholders from various states of the country as well as investors from Bangladesh attended the two days Investment summit in Agartala.

“Total 81 MoUs in different sectors like Agriculture. Horticulture, ARDD, Tourism, Information Technology, Higher Education, were signed with total proposed investment of about Rs. 2800 cr. Out of 26 applications seeking land from TIDC, already 23 organizations have been allotted land. 7 units have started functioning also like Dairy unit, Rice Mill, Plastic water tank, Paver Blocks, bitumen mfg. unit, food processing, rubber based industries etc. M/s Basiz Fund Services Pvt. Ltd., signed MoU with IT Deptt. in the Summit”, he said.
