Agartala: AIKS state committee secretary Pabitra Kar today lashed state government for not taking proper initiative to stop the violence of wild elephants in Teliamura area.
Kar said that during visiting one house of late Sujit Bardhan, who was a resident of Teliamura Dasami Ghat area and lost his life after being attacked by a wild elephant on his way home from Krishnapur last Sunday evening.
Later, Kar said that so far in the last two to three years, more than six common people of the area have died in this way.
“Even earlier, the forest department workers were pressed to take proper action. After that people could live somewhat safely, but wild elephants have started rampaging in the area again. But the government is responsible for the resurgence of wild elephant violence in the area. Due to which elephants are coming up in the locality”, said Kar.
Kar also demanded security measures from the government and job to the next kind of the deceased.
He said, “The family will not be able to survive for long without government financial grants. I am demanding from the government to provide a government job so that the family can survive. And the destitute family members have been told to write letters to the Chief Minister demanding government jobs”.
