Agartala, November 18: In a move towards promoting transparency and merit-based hiring, the state government is set to initiate recruitment drives for various departments. Agriculture Minister Ratan Lal Nath on Saturday announced the distribution of job offers to 37 individuals at the office premises of the Director of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department.

Notably, the event saw the distribution of offers to 29 individuals for the position of Lower Division Clerk (LDC) in the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, and 8 individuals for the Election Department. The recipients are required to submit their acceptance of the offers by December 4.

Minister Nath highlighted the government’s commitment to employing qualified individuals through transparent recruitment policies, citing the use of JRBT, TET, and TPSC for the selection process. This approach aims to enhance the efficiency of government services for the benefit of the state’s citizens.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Nath emphasized the government’s dedication to the holistic development of villages and impoverished farmers. He outlined the efforts to empower unemployed youth by creating opportunities for income generation at the grassroots level. Currently, the state boasts over 51,000 women-led self-help groups, engaging approximately 8 lakh women, with 85,000 women achieving financial independence with an annual income exceeding Rs 1 lakh.

Furthermore, the government is actively working to improve rural living standards through initiatives such as providing drinking water to every household under Jal Jeevan Mission, constructing houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana, and building toilets as part of the Swachh Bharat Mission.
