STGT 2022 qualifiers appeal to CM for jobs, cite over 2,100 vacancies

Date:

Agartala,  14th  October 2026 :   Unemployed candidates who qualified in the 2022 Selection Test for Graduate Teachers (STGT) have appealed to Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha to intervene and ensure their long-pending recruitment, alleging that they have been deprived of employment for the past four to five years despite the availability of more than 2,100 vacancies.

Expressing their frustration and emotional distress, the candidates questioned why they continued to remain jobless despite qualifying in the examination. They said they had repeatedly approached the Teachers’ Recruitment Board, Tripura (TRBT), but their concerns remained unresolved.

“Whom should we approach if not the Chief Minister? The government knows about our situation, the Chief Minister knows, and the entire state is aware that the 2022 STGT qualifiers have been deprived of employment,” the candidates said.

According to them, although more than 2,100 vacancies are available, recruitment is reportedly being considered for only around 230 posts due to legal complications. They urged the authorities to resolve the issues delaying the process and expedite the declaration of results and appointment of eligible candidates.

The candidates also highlighted the financial and family responsibilities they have been carrying while waiting for employment. Many have children and families to support and said they cannot continue preparing for examinations indefinitely without securing jobs.

Appealing for urgent intervention, the candidates urged the Chief Minister to take necessary steps to address the legal hurdles, expedite the recruitment process and provide employment to deserving candidates against the available vacancies.
