Storm damages several motorcycles parked at MBB Airport

BY TC News Desk

Agartala, April 06, 2023: As the monsoon season is approaching, heavy shower and thunder-storm had incurred huge loss of people by damaging their 15-20 motorcycles parked on the bike parking zone of the MBB Airport as a giant deciduous tree fell down on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.

Among them, two bikes and a scooty were completely destroyed while the rest of the scooters and bikes were partially damaged. Later, after leaving the airport building, bike riders found that a tree is lying on their bikes and scootys. However rescue work begins.

Although the amount of damage is not known, some form of compensation has been demanded. Most of the bikes belonged to airport staff. An anger brewed among the airport employees after the incident. They claimed that by parking their motorcycles in lieu of money, they have to face losses today.

The person in-charge of this parking zone came and gave no assurance. The airport police rushed to the spot. But even though the two-wheelers were recovered till Thursday evening, there was no assurance of cooperation to the damaged motorcycles’ owners.
