Agartala, 29th June 2025:  A new Covid-19 case has been detected in Sabroom Subdivision, raising concern among health authorities and local residents. According to hospital sources, a student residing in a local hostel approached the Sabroom Subdivisional Hospital today with symptoms of fever, cold, and cough. Dr. Rakesh Majumdar, who was on duty, said the student exhibited signs of fever, headache, and cold, prompting immediate testing for Covid-19. “Initially, a rapid antigen test was conducted, which showed mild symptoms. A confirmatory test was done soon after, and the result came back positive,” said Dr. Majumdar.

The student has since been prescribed medication and placed under home isolation as a precautionary measure. Health officials are reportedly monitoring the case closely and may initiate contact tracing if necessary. The incident has prompted the local administration to urge people to remain vigilant, follow Covid-appropriate behaviour, and report any flu-like symptoms to nearby healthcare centres immediately.
