Agartala, 17th June 2025: Discontent brewed among students and parents today as an examination scheduled at Tatuatila High School in Uttar Chandrapur was disrupted by the absence of teachers leaving children soaked and waiting in the rain.
Despite arriving promptly for their 11 am class exam, students stood outside a locked school gate with no staff in sight. Eyewitnesses reported that school authorities failed to open the premises on time, forcing the children to wait unsheltered under heavy downpour—an ordeal they say they endure regularly.
The school established in 2009 after nearly a decade of public demand caters to students from Classes I to VIII and employs seven teachers, including five men and two women. Students allege that teacher absenteeism is a chronic issue, contributing to a steady decline in enrollment over recent years.
Local sources claim that despite repeated complaints to headmaster Madhusudan Mandal, no meaningful action has been taken to address the irregularities. Community members now demand immediate intervention from the education department, citing a deteriorating learning environment and neglect of student welfare.
