Students must learn leadership quality to lead society: CM

Agartala: August 26. Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha today said that students must learn to build leadership quality to lead in different areas of the society starting from their student lives.

“Students are future of the nation. Student life is the most important chapter of human life. They must learn to build leadership quality to lead in different areas of the society starting from their student lives, that is why it is essential for students to also give importance to sports, cultural and literary activities besides the regular academics”, said Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha while addressing the Annual Prize Giving Ceremony of Maharani Tulsibati Girls HS School held today.

He said, student life is the prime time to properly build one’s life. “Students must accept challenges in different areas of the society and forge ahead. The students also must analyze themselves towards building a decent living habit. Only then, success can be achieved in every phase of life”, he said.

The Chief Minister said, the state government has taken the step of 33% reservation for women in jobs to empower women. He said, Maharani Tulsibati Girls HS School is one among other well-known schools of the state. He hoped that through good connection between students and the teachers this school will earn good name for the state in future.

Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder, as a special guest in the programme said, the school has been a unique educational institution of the state since its inception 128 years back during the royal days. Many students have passed out from the school and have earned good name in the country as well as abroad.

Tripura Tea Development Corporation Chairman Santosh Saha and School’s Headmaster Nandan Sarkar also spoke on the occasion. SDM Asim Saha, School Education department Director Chandni Chandran and West Tripura District Education official Rupen Roy were present in the programme.

The students of class III-IX and XI scoring first, second and third rank in the annual examination in the 2021-22 academic year were awarded in the programme. Apart from that, three meritorious students of Secondary and Higher Secondary examination under TBSE Board in the academic year 2020-21 and 2021-22 were also awarded. The awards were also handed over to the students by the Chief Minister and other guests.
