Agartala: August 26. Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma today strongly protested and condemned the undemocratic behaviors of the Tipra Moth workers after they staged a road blockades and attacked BJP workers when the minister was en route to a party programme.
As election is approaching, the BJP has intensified its poll activities across the state. Today in presence of Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varman more than 120 families joined BJP.
The Deputy Chief Minister also condemned the role of Tipra Motha party workers for attacking BJP workers by pelting stones on them and for blocking the road.“It most unfortunate that Tipra Motha party workers and supporters tried to block the road, pelted stones, attacked our BJP workers and injured them . They also damaged cars and two wheelers. It is most surprising that these people did not even follow instructions from their topmost leader, who asked them to disperse”, he said.
He also said that, “It raises a question who actually is remote controlling these reckless and rowdy elements. I thank my BJP karyakartas for their discipline and courage. I also appreciate the restraint shown by the police even under such provocation. Last but not the least Thansa cannot be achieved by Danda on your own people”.
He said that while addressing Janajati karyakartas in Herma in his constituency where 120 families from different parties joined to BJP.
