Students Protest at Bishramganj HS School Over Teacher Transfer

Agartala, 29th June 2026:  Students of Bishramganj Higher Secondary School staged a strong protest on Monday morning opposing the transfer of their English teacher, Tania Saha.

According to reports, tensions rose after news spread that English teacher Tania Saha was being transferred from the school. In response, students locked the main gate of the school and began protesting from around 10:30 a.m.The protesting students demanded that the transfer order be revoked, arguing that the school is already facing a shortage of subject-specific teachers. They expressed concern that removing the English teacher would further disrupt academic activities, especially affecting students preparing for upcoming secondary and higher secondary examinations next year.

The students also warned that if the transfer order is not withdrawn within the day, they would be forced to escalate their protest by blocking a national highway.
