Agartala, 15th January 2026:   College students staged a protest at the OBC (Other Backward Classes) office today, alleging that they have not received their stipends for an extended period. The demonstrators gathered in front of the office to voice their anger and frustration.

According to the students, the department has repeatedly delayed stipend disbursement without providing any clear timeline or satisfactory response, despite multiple appeals. They said the prolonged delay has left them struggling to manage their educational expenses.

The protesters demanded that the issue be resolved immediately, warning that failure to do so would lead to larger demonstrations in the coming days. The protest created a brief spell of tension in the office premises during the agitation.
