Subhashnagar HS School marks Sardar’s legacy at 150

Agartala, 25th October 2025:   As part of the Sardar@150 Unity March National Celebration Programme commemorating the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the NSS Unit of Subhashnagar H.S. School organized a seminar on the theme — “Vision of One India: Patel’s Role in Shaping the Indian Constitution and Democracy” on 25th October 2025 in the ICT Room. The seminar featured inspiring addresses from distinguished speakers. Jayanta Saha, Secretary, Teachers’ Council, delivered the Keynote Address, highlighting Sardar Patel’s pivotal role in national integration and the shaping of the Indian Constitution. Mrs. Rumpa Sarkar, PGT, elaborated on Patel’s ideals of unity, integrity, and democratic values that continue to guide India’s progress.

The session was presided over by Rama Dewan Mog, Assistant Headmistress (AHM), while Raju Roy, NSS Programme Officer, served as the Programme Coordinator and presented a Power Point presentation on Patel’s Vision of a United and Self-Reliant India. During the interactive session, Arpita Mishra, NSS Volunteer and Group Leader, raised insightful questions and actively contributed to the discussions. She, along with her co-volunteers, also ensured the smooth organization and successful execution of the event. A total of 40 NSS volunteers and 13 teachers actively participated in the seminar.

In preparation for the Sardar@150 Unity March (Padyatra) Campaign, the NSS Unit held a coordination meeting on 21st October 2025 under the chairmanship of Rama Dewan Mog. Raju Roy outlined the plan of action and implementation strategy for various pre-event activities. Twelve teachers participated in the meeting and shared valuable suggestions to ensure the programme’s success. The meeting concluded with a collective commitment to uphold Sardar Patel’s ideals of unity, integrity, and nation-building.

As part of the pre-event activities, an Essay Competition was organized on 23rd October 2025, in which 18 NSS volunteers participated enthusiastically, reflecting on Patel’s life and legacy. After evaluation, 14 essays were shortlisted for their clarity and depth of thought. Arpita Mishra was declared the Best Performer for her outstanding composition and presentation.

In addition, the NSS volunteers carried out a Statue Cleaning Drive under the National Heroes’ Statue Cleaning Programme, respectfully cleaning the statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on the school campus. They also conducted a Shramdan Activity within and around the school premises to promote cleanliness and community spirit.

According to Raju Roy, NSS Programme Officer, the pre-event activities will continue until 30th October 2025 as part of the nationwide celebration, culminating in the District-Level Unity March (Padyatra). These activities aim to inspire NSS volunteers to embrace the values of patriotism, unity, discipline, and service to the nation — upholding the enduring legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the architect of a united and self-reliant India.
