Agartala, 25th October 2025:   The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has strongly condemned the recent attack on the Officer-in-Charge of Bilonia police station, alleging it reflects a broader pattern of lawlessness under the BJP’s eight-year rule in Tripura.

Speaking to media personnel here this afternoon at the CPIM Belonia Subdivisional Committee office, party leaders claimed that the ruling BJP has systematically weakened the backbone of the police force, creating an atmosphere where even senior state officials are no longer safe. “This is not just about attacks on the Left. We had warned that neither the public nor the administration would be spared,” said CPIM leaders, pointing to yesterday night’s assault as a grim manifestation of that warning.

Present at the briefing were Vijay Tilak, Secretary of the CPIM Bilonia Subdivisional Committee, and Tapas Dutta, Secretary of the CPIM South District Committee. They alleged that the BJP is fostering a climate of intimidation, where officials who refuse to act as party loyalists face retaliation.

The leaders also addressed the disruption of a public meeting in Matai, under the Rishyamukh Assembly constituency, which was scheduled to be attended by opposition leader Jitendra Choudhury. Despite receiving police permission, the event was postponed at the request of law enforcement citing security concerns. CPIM claimed the BJP orchestrated parallel programs to deliberately provoke unrest and derail the gathering.

“Regardless of the obstacles, the Left will continue its political programs,” the CPIM asserted, vowing to resist what they described as the BJP’s attempts to suppress democratic expression through fear and force.
