Agartala, 29th February 2024: In response to Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha’s urgent appeal for voluntary blood donation, Mayor Dipak Majumder announced today that the city’s blood banks are no longer facing shortages. The positive outcome follows a strategically organized blood donation camp at Sri Sri Ramakrishna Seva Sangha in Dhaleshwar, Agartala, where Mayor Majumdar inaugurated the event alongside distinguished guests, including Tripura Legislative Assembly Chief Whip Kalyani Roy.
Mayor Majumder highlighted the initial shortage of blood in the state’s blood banks, emphasizing the crucial role of community participation in mitigating the crisis. He commended the overwhelming response of citizens to the Chief Minister’s call, noting that the word of blood shortage is now obsolete in the blood banks.
“People now organize blood donation camps for any good cause. More people will come forward to donate blood in the coming days. Because scientists could not make it from a blood substitute, try hard. And with the blood of one, it is possible to save four,” Mayor Majumder stated, encouraging continued support for future donation initiatives.
Expressing the significance of blood donation as a noble contribution, Mayor Majumder actively participated in the organized camp, personally visiting and motivating blood donors. The event witnessed the remarkable presence of numerous blood donors, signifying a united community effort to address the critical shortage.
The success of this blood donation drive not only averts an immediate crisis but also sets a positive precedent for future initiatives, fostering a culture of voluntary blood donation in Agartala. The Mayor anticipates an even greater turnout in upcoming campaigns, reinforcing the belief that collective efforts can make a substantial impact on the community’s well-being.
