Train mows down one at Bishalgarh

Agartala, 29th February 2024:  In a devastating incident that has sent shockwaves through the Champamura rail bridge area of Bishalgarh, a 55-year-old man, identified as Ashit Chakraborty, lost his life after being struck by a train during his morning walk today.

The Tripura Police from Bishalgarh Police Station swiftly responded to the distressing news, rushing to the scene where they recovered Chakraborty’s lifeless body. The authorities have subsequently sent the deceased to the hospital for post-mortem examination.

The heart-wrenching incident unfolded as Chakraborty was reportedly on his routine morning walk when the unfortunate accident occurred, resulting in his tragic demise. Eyewitnesses from the local community immediately alerted the family about the incident.

The son of the deceased, shared that his father was out for his morning walk when the accident transpired. The entire community is mourning the loss of a respected member of their society.

As the police worked diligently to recover the body and conduct necessary investigations, the aftermath of the incident caused a significant disruption in the transportation system. The demo train traveling from Sabroom to Agartala was forced to remain stationary at Bishalgarh station for an extended period, contributing to delays and inconveniences for commuters.
