Agartala Oct 10: Owing to an abrupt rise in the prices of CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) SUCI staged protest at Battala area of capital city on Monday.SUCI accused the Tripura Natural Gas Corporation, the state-owned company that deals with the distribution of CNG for hiked prices of CNG and PNG.
The agitators said the TNGCL issued a sudden notification on October 1 and increased the fuel price by Rs 9.30 when just a few months ago, the CNG had already become expensive by Rs 8.
Talking to the reporters SUCI leader said, “Common men are already burdened with the hiked prices of essential commodities, and in this situation the hiked prices of fuel has further added to their woes”.
“The auto drivers of the city have been facing a range of issues. And in this situation hiked CNG prices have added extra worries”.SUCI strongly condemned the price hike of CNG and PNG and demanded immediate repeal of the hiked rate.
