Agartala, 15th May 2026: Fuel prices have once again been increased in the state, with the revised rates coming into effect from Friday. Under the new pricing, petrol is now selling at ₹100.56 per litre, while diesel costs ₹89.46 per litre.
The latest revision has pushed petrol prices up by ₹3.04 per litre and diesel by ₹2.51 per litre. The increase is being attributed to the rise in crude oil prices in the international market, with the hike reportedly implemented nationwide.
Soon after the announcement, petrol pumps witnessed heavy crowds, with long queues of vehicles forming at several stations as people rushed to refuel. Many consumers have expressed concern that the rising fuel prices may lead to an increase in the cost of essential goods in the coming days.
