Agartala, June 15, 2023: Animal Resource Development, Fisheries and SC Welfare minister Sudhanghsu Das on Thursday said that the concerned department has taken initiative to make self-reliant in animal feed production. To implement this initiative of the government, the officials of the concerned departments have to work with more responsibility for increasing the production of fish, meat, eggs and milk in the state. The officials must have a positive mindset while working and transparency should also be maintained in project and schemes implementation, he added.
Chairing a review meeting of the Fisheries, ARD and SC Welfare departments of North Tripura district at Dharmanagar on Thursday, Das reviewed the implementation of various central and state governments’ schemes and projects and the future work plans of the respective departments.
In the review meeting, Fisheries minister Das said that Fisheries and ARD departments have an important role in the development of rural economy. In the meeting, minister directed the officials of the concerned departments to work on targets to increase the production of fish, meat, eggs and milk in North Tripura district. He said that officials should increase regular communication with the farmers by visiting the field level. Farmers should be encouraged. Initiatives should be taken to utilize water bodies to increase fish production. Importance should be given to regular vaccination to prevent disease in cattle.
In today’s review meeting, Uttar Tripura Zilla Parishad Sabhadipati Bhabatosh Das, DM Nagesh Kumar B, Dharmanagar Municipal Council chairperson Pradyot De Sarkar, Chairman of various panchayat societies under North Tripura district, BAC chairmen, Fisheries department Director Moslem Uddin Ahmed, Animal Resource Development department Director Dr BK Das, Deputy Director of SC Welfare Department Pradip Reang, SDM of Dharmanagar sub-division Vivek HB, SDM of Kanchanpur sub-division Rahul Modi, SDM of Panisagar sub-division, BDOs of eight blocks of the district and officials of concerned departments were present.
