Agartala, 17th August 2026 : A high-level district review meeting was convened at the Dhalai District Magistrate’s conference hall to assess the progress of various welfare projects under the Tripura government. The session was chaired by State Minister Sudhanshu Das, who oversees the Departments of Scheduled Caste Welfare, Animal Resource Development, and Fisheries.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on ongoing initiatives and future plans of the three departments. Minister Das reviewed the progress of schemes and directed officials to ensure that benefits reach grassroots communities swiftly and transparently. Special emphasis was placed on strengthening rural economies through livestock rearing and fisheries.
Speaking to the press, Minister Das highlighted that the review would cover the 2026–27 budget allocations, the extent of project implementation, and reasons behind incomplete tasks from the 2025–26 fiscal year. He stressed employment generation for the unemployed, doubling farmers’ income, and expanding opportunities in fisheries and livestock sectors.
Ahead of the meeting, beneficiaries received ice boxes and fishing nets from the minister and senior officials, symbolizing the government’s commitment to supporting local livelihoods.
The review session was attended by District Council Chairperson Sushmita Das, MLA Shambhulal Chakma, Special Secretary S. Prabhu, District Magistrate Vivek H.B. (IAS), sub-divisional magistrates, block officials, senior administrators, and representatives from the concerned departments.
