Agartala, 24th June 2025:   Animal Resources Development, Fisheries and Scheduled Caste Welfare minister Sudhangshu Das today commenced a two-day official visit to North Tripura district today focusing on the implementation and impact of key welfare schemes.

The visit began with a high-level review meeting at the conference hall of the District Magistrate’s office in Dharmanagar. The session brought together senior officials from the three departments, including District Magistrate Chandni Chandran, departmental directors and administrative heads. The primary agenda was to assess the progress of state and centrally sponsored schemes for the fiscal year 2025–26 and to ensure timely delivery of benefits to the public.

“The purpose of this review is to evaluate how effectively the allocated budgets are being utilized and whether the intended beneficiaries are receiving the services on time,” Minister Das stated during the meeting. He emphasized the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability in public service delivery.

The review also examined the performance of ongoing projects under the Scheduled Caste Welfare, Fisheries, and Animal Resources Development departments. Officials presented data on fund utilization, project milestones, and outreach metrics.

Later in the day, a second session was held with MLAs from various constituencies of North Tripura, Zilla Sabhadipati, Saha-Sabhadipati, block chairpersons and departmental officers. The interactive forum aimed to gather grassroots-level feedback and suggestions to improve the execution of welfare schemes.

Minister Das noted, “We are here not just to review files but to listen to the people’s representatives and understand the real challenges on the ground. Our goal is to ensure that development reaches every household, especially in rural and marginalized communities.”

The visit is scheduled to conclude with field inspections across select project sites today, where the minister will directly interact with beneficiaries and assess on-ground implementation.
