Agartala, 7th May 2026: Agartala Government Medical College and GBP Hospital successfully organized a super specialist health camp at Sonamura Sub-Divisional Hospital (Melaghar) in Sepahijala district on April 27, 2026. The initiative aimed to bring advanced healthcare services to the doorstep of the people.
A large number of residents from different areas attended the camp, where 180 patients received medical consultations, treatment, and free medicines across multiple super-specialty departments. A total of 180 patients received medical services during the camp, with 40 examined in Neurology, 60 treated in Gastroenterology, 55 receiving care in Cardiology, and 25 attended in Nephrology. Free medicines were distributed to all, and patients requiring advanced treatment were referred to higher medical centers.
The camp was led by distinguished specialists from Agartala Government Medical College and GBP Hospital, including Dr. Debdutta Saha (Neurosurgeon), Dr. Shubhadip Pal (Gastroenterologist), Dr. Manna Bhattacharya (Cardiologist), and Dr. Udayan Saha (Nephrologist). Their expertise, along with the support of local medical staff, ensured comprehensive healthcare delivery to the community.
Local medical staff also played a vital role, with SDMO Dr. Rajesh Das, Dr. Abhijit Pal, nurses, and other healthcare workers actively participating in service delivery.
This initiative highlights the ongoing commitment of Agartala Government Medical College and GBP Hospital to expand access to advanced healthcare for rural communities, with plans to continue organizing similar camps in the future.
