Agartala, 15th February 2024: Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury chaired a review meeting today on the ongoing construction works of the Transport Department, sanctioned under the ‘Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment 2023-24’ project.
The review meeting took place in the presence of senior officials from the Public Works Department (R&B), Transport Department, and Rural Development Department.
The Transport Minister meticulously learned about the progress of the projects that hold the highest priority for the government from the officials present in the meeting.
“After a detailed discussion and review, various decisions were made according to the agenda. The officials present in the meeting were requested to promptly send the implementation progress report, taking necessary actions on the matters mentioned in the minutes,” stated the minister.
During this crucial meeting, discussions revolved around the construction of Ganda Twisa Motor Stand in Dhalai District, Jirania Motor Stand in West District, Melaghar Motor Stand in Sipahijala District, and the development of Nagerjala Bus Stand in West District. Additionally, the construction of the Integrated Transport Commissionerate and District Transport Office Building for West District, along with various other issues related to construction work in different locations, were addressed.
The meeting was attended by Secretary of the Transport Department Uttam Kumar Chakma, recently retired Transport Commissioner Subrata Chowdhury, Additional Chief Engineer of PWD Anup Das, Chief Engineer of the Rural Development Department Sagar Shobhan Debnath, and other senior officials.
