Agartala, 15th February 2024:   A tragic incident unfolded in Agartala, as a 40-year-old woman, Shipra Biswas, was discovered deceased in her rented room on Thursday. The grim discovery was made by her landlord, who, after repeated attempts to contact her, found her lifeless body upon entering the premises.

Reports indicated that the woman’s live-in partner is currently missing, prompting suspicions surrounding his involvement. Eyewitnesses have recounted instances of alleged physical and mental abuse inflicted upon Biswas by her partner.

Police authorities have disclosed that the deceased had recently ended her marriage and relocated to the rented accommodation with her partner, where they resided for three months. Efforts are underway to locate the missing partner, identified as Madhab Shil alias Ripan.

The deceased’s daughter has voiced accusations against the live-in partner, asserting that her mother was a victim of foul play. She alleges that her mother, who worked as a cook in a local hotel, was subjected to ongoing abuse within the relationship.

Expressing distress over the situation, the deceased’s younger sister disclosed that Biswas had confided in her about the torment she endured in the relationship. As investigations continue, forensic teams and canine units have been deployed to gather crucial evidence, while the deceased’s remains undergo post-mortem examination.
