Sushanta Chowdhury Distributes Clothes to Celebrate Sharadotsav

Agartala, October 19: In the midst of the vibrant celebration of Sharadotsav, the aroma of Shiuli and Kashful in nature has brought life to the people. The Puja Mandap is resplendent with preparations for one of the most significant festivals for Bengalis – Sharodiya Durgotsava, a festival of pride and emotions. This festival holds immense cultural and religious significance for Sanatan Hindus.

As the festival spirit engulfs different neighborhoods across the state, preparations have reached their zenith. In a heartwarming gesture to ensure that the joy of the Puja is accessible to all, Sushanta Chowdhury, the MLA of Majlishpur constituency and the State Tourism Minister, has embarked on a mission to distribute clothing to women of all castes and communities within his constituency.

On the auspicious day of Maha Panchami, at Booth No. 29/30/31 and 32, located at Shankar Bazar adjacent to NIT under the Majlishpur Assembly Constituency, Minister Sushanta Chowdhury distributed 320 sarees and pacharas to women from diverse backgrounds. The clothing distribution event was a testament to the spirit of Sharadotsav, and Minister Sushanta Chowdhury extended his warm wishes to all present, encapsulating the essence of this joyous festival.

This annual initiative by Majlishpur MLA aims to ensure that even the most economically vulnerable segments of society can partake in the festivities. Minister Sushanta Chowdhury expressed his commitment to this cause, emphasizing the importance of fostering happiness among the mothers and sisters in his assembly constituency.

The event witnessed the presence of esteemed individuals, including Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Mandal President of Majlishpur Mandal Gauranga Bhowmik, Jiraniya Nagar Panchayat Chairman Ratan Kumar Das, Jirania Block Advisory Committee Chairman Shubhamani Debbarma, Panchayat Samiti Vice-Chairman Pritam Debnath, social worker Partha Sarthi Saha, and other local leaders. This act of generosity contributes to the unity and celebration that characterizes the Sharadotsav festival, uniting people from all walks of life in joyous festivities.
