Sushanta Chowdhury inaugurates cargo transport service at MBB Airport

Agartala, April 28, 2023: Transport minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Friday officially inaugurated cargo transport service at the premises of Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport here.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Chowdhury said “The MBB Airport in Agartala has been developed in line with the plans of the Prime Minister of our country Narendra Modi to greatly improve the communication system of our state of Tripura and develop state-of-the-art air traffic management in the future. From now on the convenience of integrated model cargo transport services will be available here.”

“Local products produced in our state can be transported to national and international markets through the cargo transportation services of this airport. This cargo service will play an important role in the economic development of our state through seamless transportation of goods. Local traders will benefit due to this service”, he added

Today’s event was attended by Uttam Kumar Chakma, Secretary of Transport Department, DM of West Tripura District Debapriya Bardhan, Transport Commissioner Subrata Chowdhury, MBB Airport Director Kailash Chandra Meena, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel involved in security arrangements at MBB Airport in Agartala. Other officials involved in various cargo goods transportation services including its senior officers.
