Agartala: April 27. In a horrifying incident, a housewife allegedly brutally killed her husband and later surrendered before the police on Thursday, at Amarpur sub-division under the Gomati district.
Speaking on the issue police from Birganj Police Station said that the deceased identified as Prem Guru Jamatia used to torture his wife Kajal Kanya Jamatia physically mostly in an inebriated condition and following this the housewife hacked her husband with a chopper leading to his death.
“Today morning the housewife Kajal Kanya Jamatia came into the police station and confessed her crime. After receiving her details, a team of police rushed to the spot and found Prem Guru Jamatia lying on a pool of blood. We have also recovered the weapon which Kajal has used to kill her husband”, said police.
Police said that the deceased became a habitual drunker after he lost two daughters among five who used to stay with them with husband.
“During interrogation, locals said that Prem Guru always suspected his wife of being involved in an extramarital affair but no one from the village has raised any fingers on the accused wife. A quarrel broke out on Thursday morning as well which eventually led to the incident” added police.
