.Agartala, September 25, 2022: A review meeting on ‘Mayer Gomon’ & ‘Sharad Samman’ 2022 programmes was held at the hall number-II of Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan where ICA minister Sushanta Chowdhury presided over the event.
Chowdhury was accompanied by AMC Mayor Dipak Majumder, TTDC chairman Santosh Saha, ICA department secretary PK Chakraborty, West Tripura district’s ADM Rajib Datta, SP (Security) Bijoy Debbarma, ICA Director Ratan Biswas, Urban Development department Director Tamal Majumder, Agartala Club Forum President Pranab Sarkar, North East Colors Editor Sanjib Deb, various departments representatives, district level officials of ICA department and representatives of various clubs.
It is to be noted that on the initiative of the ICA department, the ‘Mayer Gomon’ ceremony is being organized in Agartala on October 7 to celebrate Durga Puja’s immersion event. Moreover, under the initiative of the Department, for the first time in the state, clubs and puja committees of Agartala and its surrounding areas will be given ‘Sharad Samman’ on various themes. Apart from this, district level clubs and puja committees will also be given ‘Sharad Samman’. On October 7, ‘Mayer Gaman’ will be organized in the city center here. The road map will be finalized in a few days.
In the review meeting, Chowdhury said, this is the first time in the state that ‘Sharad Samman’ and ‘Mayer Gomon’ programmes will be organized under the initiative of Information and Cultural Affairs department. This event is being organized to commemorate the moment of mother’s sacrifice. Apart from Agartala, initiatives will be taken so that people from other parts of the state can also enjoy the procession of the mother. On behalf of the state government, the first, second and third prizes of Rs 50,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 will be given to the clubs participating in the ‘Mayer Gomon’.
In the review meeting, AMC Mayor Majumder said that the corporation authorities have taken various measures for this year’s Durga Puja immersion ceremony. From AMC also participating clubs in ‘Mayer Gomon’ event will be given Rs 50 thousand based on theme and puja management, Rs 50 thousand on role of women or women empowerment and Rs 25 thousand based on 4 zonal ‘Sharad Samman’ awards and trophies.
In the meeting, the ICA Director Biswas said that Agartala and neighboring clubs and puja committees will be awarded on 6 themes. These are Best Theme Puja, Best Eco-Friendly Puja, Best Mandap Decoration Puja, Best Conventional Puja, Best Social Work Puja, Best Big Budget Puja. Besides, prizes will be given in 5 subjects at the district level. These are Best Theme Pooja, Best Eco-Friendly Pooja, Best Mandap Decoration Pooja, Best Conventional Pooja and Best Pooja in Social Work.
