Agartala, September 20, 2022: DWS minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Tuesday inaugurated state level programme on “Swachhata Pakhwada” under Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) Phase-II during the year 2022-23 under the initiative of Drinking Water and Sanitation department at Agartala Town Hall.
Taking it to social media handles, Chowdhury wrote “Various programs have also been undertaken in our state to observe Swachta Hi Seva (Cleanliness Seva Movement) from 15th September to 2nd October, 2022 to strengthen public participation of the country through Swachta Hi Seva Abhiyan.”
“The main aim and objective of the Swachhta Pakhwara Abhiyan is to motivate citizens to make practical changes through special Swachhata Abhiyan, emphasis on health and cleanliness and emphasis on spreading the message of transparency. In today’s Swachhata Pakhwara program, representatives from different Gram Panchayats and Village Committees of the state brought their various experiences in the workshop on Swachhata”, he added.
Minister also said that the trainers coming from outside the state will share their valuable experience and give their valuable suggestions to make every village of our state a transparent and ideal village in this workshop on Swachhata.
Among others present in today’s event were Secretary of DWS department Kiran Gitte, retired distinguished professor of School of Water Resources Engineering with numerous honors and titles associated with Jadavpur University Arunabh Majumdar, Ramakrishna Mission Lok Shiksha Parishad (Water and Sanitation) ‘Key Resource’ of Kolkata Centre’s Coordinator Chandicharan Dey, Chief Engineer of DWS department Shyamlal Bhowmik, Water and Sanitation Support Organization Tripura Acting Director and Supervising Engineer Rajib Majumdar and other dignitaries.
