Agartala, 14th October 2025 : Tripura Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury attended the two-day National Tourism Ministers’ Conference organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, in Udaipur, Rajasthan.
Speaking at the conference, Minister Chowdhury highlighted Tripura’s emerging role as a key tourism destination in Northeast India, emphasizing the state’s commitment to sustainable tourism, digital innovation, and development of unique travel experiences.
He said the conference serves as an important platform for strengthening collaboration between the Central and State Governments and for sharing ideas and best practices to position India as a leading global tourism destination.
The event was graced by several distinguished dignitaries, including Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria, and Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister Diya Kumari, along with Lieutenant Governors of various Union Territories, State Tourism Ministers, and senior officials.
During the conference, Minister Chowdhury held a constructive discussion with Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari on advancing tourism development and exchanged ideas to promote inter-state tourism. He also invited her to visit Tripura to experience its scenic landscapes and rich cultural heritage firsthand.
Minister Chowdhury reiterated Tripura’s growing potential as an emerging tourism hub in the Northeast and reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to contributing to the national goal of making India a premier global travel destination.
