Agartala, 2nd September 2025: A cloud of suspicion surrounds Rahul Debbarma, a terminated teacher from the controversial 10,323 group following the mysterious death of his wife Rekha Debbarma, whose body was found inside their residence in Vivekananda Palli, Rajkumar Para, Bishramganj.
Police sources informed that Rekha’s dead body was recovered under unclear circumstances today. Prior to the recovery, Rahul Debbarma was taken into custody by Bishramganj police for questioning. The body was transported to Bishramganj Primary Health Centre and will be handed over to the family following a post-mortem examination.
Senior police officials including Sepahijala District Superintendent of Police Bijoy Debbarma, Additional SP Rajib Sutradhar and Bishramganj OC Ajit Debbarma visited the scene along with TSR personnel to assess the situation.
Family members from Rekha’s paternal side have alleged foul play, accusing Rahul of staging her murder. SP Debbarma confirmed to media personnel that the couple had a history of domestic disputes, reportedly stemming from Rahul’s alleged extramarital affair with another woman.
The couple shared a 12-year-old son Ankit Debbarma, who is currently a student at Takarjala Navodaya Vidyalaya. The tragic incident has left the family and local people in deep shock, with residents mourning the loss and demanding a thorough investigation.
