Agartala, 22nd December 2025: A preparatory meeting on the upcoming Swadeshi Mela 2026 was held on Monday at the conference hall of Agartala Municipal Corporation. The meeting was chaired by Mayor Dipak Majumdar, who later briefed the media about the event.
The fair will take place on January 9 at Swami Vivekananda Maidan, with the theme “Vocal for Local.” Mayor Majumdar said the mela will showcase a wide range of locally produced goods, reflecting the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Atmanirbhar Tripura.
The event, organized by the Agartala Municipal Corporation, will feature daily cultural programmes, stalls offering traditional cuisine, exhibitions by various government departments, and displays from self-help groups and local entrepreneurs.
Deputy Mayor Manika Das Dutta, District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar, Commissioner DK Chakma, and Vice-Chairman of the State Cultural Advisory Committee Subrata Chakraborty were among those present at the meeting.
