Agartala, 9th May 2024: A 16-year-old girl named Anisha Debbarma took her own life by hanging herself at her residence in the Borakha area under Mandwai police station. Anisha, a student of St. Paul’s School had recently appeared for her secondary examinations this year.
According to sources close to the family, the results of the examinations were released on Monday, revealing that Anisha had received lower-than-expected marks. This news deeply affected her mental well-being, leaving her distraught and despondent.
The day of the tragic incident started like any other at the Debbarma household. Anisha’s parents left for work in the garden, unaware of the turmoil brewing within their daughter. Upon their return, they were met with a devastating sight – Anisha was found hanging inside the house.
Acting swiftly, the parents rushed Anisha to GB Hospital for medical intervention. However, despite their desperate efforts, the attending physician declared her deceased upon arrival.
