Teenager shoots self, sister received bullet injuries

Agartala: November 23. A teenager committed suicide with his country made gun while his sister received bullet injuries when she tried to save her brother.

The incident occurred in Jalachandra Karbari Para under Manikpur police station of Longtarivelly subdivision.  The name of the deceased teenager is Danimoy Chakma, aged 14 years.  The name of the injured 9-year-old girl is Lakshmirani Chakma. 

According to the details of the incident, Lakshmi Rani has seen her brother Danimoy while going inside a forest with gun .  After going to the forest, Danimoy shoot him self at his chest and he died on the spot.

While the sister received bullet injuries when she tried to save his brother.Soon after the incident SDPO Sonacharan Jamatia of Longtarivelly and police of Manikpur police station rushed to the spot align with forensic team.

 The body was brought to Chawmanu Hospital for post-mortem.  Injured Lakshiranikar is undergoing treatment at the Hospital.  The gun was recovered from the spot.  The police have taken up a case under 05/2022/U/S/-326 and Section 25(1A) Arms Act and started investigation.  But the incident is shrouded in mystery in the area.  Because the case of a 14-year-old minor shooting himself with a gun may be unprecedented.  The police investigation will come out whether it is suicide or murder.  Also, how a gun came to the family of the teenager has created a sensation in the area.
