Teliamura BDO lodges complaint over forged seal in Maharanipur case

Date:

Agartala, 25th June 2026:  A new development has surfaced in the much discussed Maharanipur incident involving allegations of financial irregularities. Biplab Acharya, Block Development Officer (BDO) of Teliamura, has filed a formal complaint at Teliamura Police Station, alleging that his official seal and signature were forged.

According to the complaint, Jhuma Chowdhury, a resident of Maharanipur and bookkeeper under the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission, is accused of using the forged seal and signature. Authorities initiated legal proceedings after the matter reached the administration.

Police confirmed that the complaint has been registered and an investigation is underway. Relevant documents are being scrutinized to verify the allegations, and officers stated that further legal action will follow based on the findings.

It is noteworthy that Chowdhury had earlier faced accusations of financial irregularities, though those remain under investigation and unproven in court. No response has yet been received from her regarding the latest charges.

Officials clarified that filing a complaint does not establish guilt; the matter will be decided only after investigation and judicial proceedings.
