TET qualified candidates stage protest in city

Date:

Agartala, 6th July 2026:  Candidates who cleared the 2024 Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) staged a protest today in front of the Teachers’ Recruitment Board, Tripura (TRBT) office. Expressing frustration over the prolonged delay in the recruitment process, the demonstrators also submitted a deputation to the TRBT Chairman.

Both Upper Primary (UGT) and Graduate Teacher (GT) qualified candidates participated in the protest. Their primary demand was the immediate publication of the merit list for recommended candidates. In addition, they urged the authorities to issue a fresh recruitment notification without delay to ensure appointments for those still awaiting placement.

One of the protesting candidates told reporters, “Our movement will continue until our demands are met. We will not leave until a specific date for the merit list publication is announced.” Protesters alleged that the prolonged uncertainty has jeopardized their future, calling for transparency in the recruitment process and swift completion of appointments.
