Agartala, September 04, 2023:  In a bold and audacious act, a gang of thieves carried out a daring theft in the heart of the capital, targeting a cloth shop located in Lake Choumuhani Bazaar. The incident unfolded on Sunday night, sending shockwaves through the local community.

The criminals brazenly entered the establishment, marking the third time the shop has fallen victim to theft. Swapan Debnath, the unfortunate owner of the cloth store, expressed his frustration and concern about the repeated robberies. The audacity of the thieves was evident as they made their way into the store through the rear entrance, where they efficiently disabled the CCTV camera system.

During their criminal escapade, the thieves made off with a substantial amount of merchandise, estimated to be valued between Rs 20,000 to 30,000.

Swapan Debnath lamented that despite having insurance coverage for his shop, the compensation provided was insufficient to cover the losses incurred during the theft.

Promptly following the incident, the local authorities were alerted, and the police arrived at the scene to commence their investigation into this unsettling episode. The case has been registered as a theft, and the authorities are actively pursuing leads to identify and apprehend the culprits responsible for this bold act.
