Three-day “Saras Mela” to be held in Unakoti district from Jan 17

Agartala, 5th January 2026:   Unakoti district is set to host a three-day “Saras Mela” from January 17 to 19 at the ground of Pecharthal Higher Secondary School.

Ahead of the event, a review meeting was convened today at the Pecharthal Block Conference Hall. The meeting was chaired by local MLA and Minister Santana Chakma, with officials from various line departments in attendance.

Among those present were Unakoti District Magistrate Tamal Majumder, Unakoti Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Amalendu Das, Kumarghat SDM NS Chakma, Pecharthal BAC Chairman Sajal Chakma, and Pecharthal Block BDO Ankar Deb, along with several other officials.

During the discussions, preparations for the upcoming fair were reviewed in detail. Speaking at the meeting, Minister Santana Chakma said the Saras Mela will feature diverse cultural programs and a wide variety of stalls, offering visitors a vibrant experience.
