Agartala, 27th July 2024: From July 25 to 27, 2024, the State Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development (SIPARD) hosted a three-day training program titled “Role of Local Participation in Ensuring All-Round Development” at the community training center in the Killa block of Gomati district. The initiative aimed to enhance the skills of women self-help groups in disaster management, tourism, cultural business practices, and entrepreneurship.
A total of 50 women from the Killa Block area participated in the training, which was directed by Dr. Elizabeth Sangliana, Assistant Professor of Social Development at SIPARD. The training sessions were conducted by experienced coaches including Pritam Malakar, Randeep Rudra Pal, Kishan Debnath, Chayanika Debbarma, and Advanting Debbarma. At the conclusion of the program, certificates were awarded to each participant, recognizing their newly acquired skills.
In addition, a parallel three-day training on gender issues was held in Ampi block from July 25 to 27, 2024. This session was led by coaches Kusumita Jamatia, Anupamkhe Debbarma, and Arjinda Debbarma, focusing on various aspects of gender equality and empowerment.
