Agartala, 3rd May 2025: A three-day training program aimed at empowering unemployed youth and self-help group members successfully concluded in Boxanagar today. The initiative was conducted under the Joint Forest Management Committee of Bijoynagar, Kamalnagar, Veluachar and Rahimpur and was supported by JICA in collaboration with the international development agency SCATFORM.
Trainer and Communication Program Officer of SCATFORM Chandan Pandey emphasized the program’s focus on sustainability and skill development. “Our goal is to equip participants with essential skills that will enable them to generate a stable livelihood while also contributing to forest conservation,” he stated.
Throughout the training, attendees engaged in discussions on developmental activities, awareness-building strategies, and the significant role local communities play in preserving forest resources. The final day saw participants sharing their experiences and exchanging perspectives on future plans.
Marking the successful completion of the training, Pandey handed over the Pramsha PRA certificates to the trainees, acknowledging their efforts and commitment to sustainable development. “The enthusiasm and participation shown by the attendees demonstrate the potential for impactful change at the grassroots level,” he added.
The initiative, organizers noted aligns with ongoing efforts to promote self-reliance and environmental responsibility, further strengthening the connection between livelihood and conservation in the region.
