Three hostels construction under BJRCY, says Bhagaban Das

Agartala, October 28, 2022: Three hostels for students will be constructed during the current financial year under the Babu Jagjivan Ram Chhatrawas Yojana (BJRCY) under the ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, said SC Welfare minister Bhagaban Chandra Das on Friday.

Speaking to reporters here on Friday evening, Das said that the 100-seat female hostel in Rangamati Higher Secondary School of Gomati district, 50-seat female hostel in Harina Higher Secondary School at Thaibong Gram Panchayat in Sabroom sub-division and 50-seat female hostel in Pabiacherra Higher Secondary School in Kumarghat sub-division will be constructed.

He said “The ministry of culture has sanctioned Rs 2 crore for installation of bronze statue of the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in Kumarghat and Dr BR Ambedkar at Kunjaban here in the Azadi Ka Amrit Mohotsav project.”

He also said that the Scheduled Caste Welfare department of the state government has sanctioned a total of Rs 1.50 lakh for the installation of a fibre statue of writer Adaith Mallavarman at Advaita Guest House in Office Lane here. The statue is planned to be unveiled in the first week of next month. Abhishek Chandra, secretary of Scheduled Caste Welfare Department, was present at the press conference.
