Agartala, July 03, 2023: A head-on collision between a bike and a rickshaw resulted in three people being injured. The accident took place at an alley adjacent to Sri Krishna temple, just in front of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha’s residence on Monday.

Eyewitnesses reported that the collision involved a speeding bike and a rickshaw. Local residents immediately alerted the fire brigade, which promptly arrived at the scene. The firefighters successfully rescued the three injured individuals and transported them to GB Hospital for medical treatment. The rickshaw suffered damage as a result of the incident.

According to witnesses, the accident occurred due to the excessive speed of both vehicles involved. Among the injured is a female college student.

The city’s traffic management system bears significant responsibility for the rising number of accidents. Motorcycles are often observed traveling at alarming speeds through narrow lanes. Although numerous CCTV cameras have been installed, little action is being taken against individuals who illegally operate bikes and cars on the roads. This lack of enforcement contributes to the increasing occurrence of such accidents.
