Agartala, 4th January 2025: In 2021, the BJP-led Municipal Corporation was established. Recently, it celebrated its three-year anniversary. To commemorate this milestone, various programs have been organized in each ward. On Saturday, an initiative by Suparna Debnath, the corporator of Ward No. 4 of the corporation saw the organization of a discussion meeting and a cloth donation program for the underprivileged.
The event was graced by the presence of Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumdar, former MLA of Barjala constituency Dr. Dilip Das and other dignitaries. During the event, the Mayor Majumder remarked, “In the past three years, various developmental works have been carried out in each ward. We have made provisions for drinking water, constructed roads and drains, and are trying to give the city a new look. However, there is still more work to be done, which we plan to complete in the coming days. The public will judge for themselves how much the Municipal Corporation has been able to achieve.”
He further added, “During the 25 years of the Left Front, no work was done in the Municipal Corporation. You will judge the development of the Municipal Corporation during the Left Front era and the current BJP-led corporation.”
On the other hand, Dr. Dilip Das, the former MLA of Barjala constituency, expressed his surprise at the lack of reflection of these efforts in the ballot box despite so much work being done. Meanwhile, a cloth donation program was also held on the same day by the initiative of Ward No. 6 of the Municipal Corporation, with Mayor Dipak Majumdar in attendance.
