Tight Security as 3,500 EVMs Arrive in Tripura for ADC Elections

Agartala, 2nd April 2026: Ahead of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council elections on Thursday, 3,500 EVMs have arrived from Madhya Pradesh today at the State Election Commission (SEC) office.

The elections will be held on April 12 for all 28 district council seats.

Speaking on the matter, SEC Secretary Anurag Sen said that 3,500 EVMs have arrived under tight security from Madhya Pradesh and will be dispatched today to the offices of the concerned District Magistrates.

“Today, we will dispatch the EVMs to the concerned District Magistrates’ offices. Teams comprising officials, police personnel, and helpers have arrived. A total of 3,500 EVMs have been received and will be sent to warehouses in all eight districts. All the EVMs that have arrived here will be used for the TTAADC elections,” he said.
