Agartala, 10th August 2025: The 18th biennial conference of the All Tripura Blind Committee (ATBC) Central Zone was held today at the Agartala Press Club, bringing together leaders, ministers, and stakeholders to address the pressing issues faced by the visually impaired in the state.
The conference was inaugurated by Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy, who lit the ceremonial lamp. Fisheries Minister Sudhanshu Das, ATBC President Brajahari Debnath, and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
In a significant move, the organization submitted an 18-point demand charter to the ministers, outlining the urgent needs of the visually impaired, particularly in the fields of education, employment, and social inclusion.
Speaking to the media, Minister Tinku Roy lauded the committee’s continued efforts, noting that such conferences play a crucial role in bringing community concerns to the government’s attention.
He assured that the state government is “sincere and committed” to addressing these issues, adding that the guiding principle of the present administration remains Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.
“Our aim is to ensure that every section of society, including the visually impaired, is empowered to move forward and become self-reliant,” Roy said.
The conference served not only as a platform for voicing concerns but also as a reaffirmation of the government’s pledge to w ork towards an inclusive Tripura where no one is left behind.
